Using aerial platforms for Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) of large and complex structures is a growing field interest in various industries. Infrastructures such as: buildings, bridges, oil gas, etc. refineries require regular extensive inspections. The inspection reports are used to plan perform required maintenance, ensuring their structural health the safety workers. However, performing these inspections can be challenging due size facility, lack easy access, risks inspectors, or several other reasons, which has convinced companies invest more drones as an alternative solution overcome challenges. autonomous nature assist reducing time cost. Moreover, employment lower number personnel increase safety. Finally, provide safe reliable inspecting hard-to-reach hazardous areas. Despite recent developments drone-based NDI reliably detect defects, limitations challenges still need addressed. In this paper, brief review history unmanned vehicles, along with comprehensive studies focused on UAV-based industrial commercial facilities, provided. benefits using conventional methods discussed, open problems employing inspections, explored. some our case conducted different fields presented.
